SIRA's Regulatory Framework

The Regulatory Framework sets out the approach SIRA is taking to deliver its regulatory functions under the State Insurance and Care Governance Act 2015.

As an overarching framework it provides transparency and clarity of SIRA’s role and functions to regulated entities (e.g. insurers, employers, building businesses), service providers, and scheme users such as policy holders and people with an injury or claim.

The Regulatory Framework sets out:

• The principles and governance that the Regulatory Framework is based upon.
• The regulatory processes and tools used and regulatory actions SIRA has available.
• What is considered in arriving at an appropriate response when making a regulatory decision.
