SIRA awards seven scholarships to study a Graduate Certificate in Personal Injury Management

SIRA has awarded seven scholarships to study a Graduate Certificate in Personal Injury Management, a postgraduate pathway delivered jointly by the Personal Injury Education Foundation (PIEF) and Monash University.

The recipients of the funded places are four industry professionals working in the NSW workers compensation and CTP schemes and three SIRA staff.

SIRA received 24 applications for the industry scholarships available from a wide cross-section of the industry. All applicants were assessed against a specific eligibility criteria.

SIRA Executive Director and PIEF board member Dr Petrina Casey said that providing the scholarships supports SIRA’s focus on developing sector capability.

“SIRA is excited to be supporting a significant capability building initiative to develop industry leaders within the personal injury sector,” Dr Casey said.

“Uplifting capability within the sector will help to deliver better claims management and improved outcomes for people injured at work or on the roads in NSW.

“Also including talent from SIRA in this process allows us to build and support our own staff and strengthen our capabilities in the industry we regulate.”

Congratulations to scholarship recipients Abbey Norman, Internal Dispute Resolution Officer at Allianz Australia Insurance, Joshua Ho, Injury Management Specialist at Allianz Australia Insurance, Lauren Farias, Case Manager (Workers Compensation) at StateCover Mutual, and Elizabeth Terry, Team Leader at Hospitality EML and SIRA staff members Emily Wooden, Siobhan Fox, and Trina Moyes.
