Public feedback sought on ways to improve the NSW home building insurance scheme

Consultation is now open on proposed reforms to the NSW home building compensation insurance scheme.

The proposed reforms are aimed at better supporting homeowners and reducing regulatory burdens and costs.

With increasing pressure in the housing construction market, some of the reform ideas would provide greater coverage to homeowners while helping to reducing the cost of building work on homes.

The consultation also considers who should provide cover in the scheme and how they should be regulated.

Correction of workers compensation surgeon fees

Changes made by SIRA to correct high surgeon and orthopaedic surgeon fees in the NSW workers compensation scheme came into effect on 1 July 2022.

SIRA is assessing Adecco Holdings Pty Ltd’s application for a group self-insurer licence and is inviting submissions from stakeholders by 15 July 2022.
