SIRA publishes Register of Directed Service Providers Policy
26 June 2024
SIRA has published its Register of Directed Service Providers Policy (the Policy). The Policy outlines SIRA’s approach to publishing and updating the register of directed service providers (the register), which is a list of relevant service providers (RSPs) given directions under section 26D of the State Insurance and Care Governance Act 2015 (SICG Act).
The SICG Act requires SIRA to publish and update the register. It also requires SIRA to publish the register on its website.
The Policy meets SIRA’s 2023 commitment to publish a policy that provides information about how the register of directed service providers works and the issues SIRA may consider when deciding to publish RSP’s details on the register.
The Register of Directed Service Providers Policy includes information on:
- the circumstances that will lead to publication on the register
- the information included on the register
- procedural fairness
- the issues SIRA may consider when deciding what information is published on the register
- when the register can be corrected and updated
- who else may be notified about a direction
- SIRA’s obligations under the NSW privacy legislation.
