SIRA Recovery Boost recipient launches mental health podcast

Managers can now access a new podcast to help them be more effective when approaching mental health issues in the workplace, thanks to funding from the SIRA Recovery Boost program.

Each episode of the new mental health literacy podcast, Managing Minds, takes a closer look at issues such as preventing burnout, dealing with bullying, and how to manage an unhealthy workplace culture.

Northern NSW-based Headline Productions launched the podcast in August after being awarded $49,000 through the SIRA Recovery Boost  program.

With almost half of Australians experiencing some form of mental health issue in their lifetime, Recovery Boost  aims to support organisations with innovative ideas to help reduce the impact and aid recovery.

Managing Minds Executive Producer Liz Keen said the Recovery Boost program has enabled her to design a tool that will help managers build mentally healthy workplaces

We applied for the Recovery Boost funding to make exactly the kind of resource I wish had been available to me when I was managing a team,” Ms Keen said.

The first four episodes of the podcast are available for streaming and download.

Third and final round applications for the SIRA Recovery Boost grant are now under review, with the winners due to be announced in November.
